Liferay portlet as Facebook App

How to integrate Liferay portlet as an Facebook tab on facebook page

1.Go to facebook developers create an App.

2.After creating an App you get the AppId and App Secret


Now goto your liferay portlet which you want to deploy as an APP on your facebook page

Go to confugiration of portlet  you find a facebook tab there.Click it.

Now you need to fill your FB AppId .And you also need to give the url of the page where u want ur App to be displayed on facebook.

After filling both fiels you get a callback URL.Just copy that URL .

Now comeback to Facebook Developer.Open your app settings.And now u want ur portlet to be displayed as an page tab so just open Page tab option.You will See 3 tabs there

Page tab URL:- Put that call back url there

Secure Page tab URL:- Here you need to give the Https (secured one).Facebook provide option of secure browsing .If you dont provide the secure URL than the users who are using Facebook on HTTPS will unable to see your App.

Page Edit Tab URL:- Put the same call back URL there

SAVE IT.

Now Add this app to your desired page and u will see your portlet as an page tab App.


Note:-For making your liferay portlet working on HTTPS for displaying ur porlet to secure browsing users u need to enable the Https.
